Vocational Training Program Expands to Kabaa

The Nzoka Kivuva Foundation has expanded its vocational training program to Kabaa, equipping 60 young people with practical skills in tailoring, carpentry, and agribusiness. The initiative, launched in partnership with local vocational institutions and community leaders, aims to improve the employability and entrepreneurial potential of youth in the region.

The program provides hands-on training, mentorship, and access to tools and materials, enabling participants to develop marketable skills that can lead to sustainable livelihoods.

Building Skills, Building Futures

The vocational training program offers participants hands-on experience in three key areas:

• Tailoring and Fashion Design – Garment making, repairs, and design
• Carpentry and Woodwork – Furniture making and joinery
• Agribusiness – Sustainable farming, crop production, and livestock management

Empowering Youth for Economic Independence

The program is designed to address high unemployment rates among young people in Machakos County by providing them with skills that are in demand in the local economy. What's Next

Building on the success of the Kabaa expansion, the foundation plans to:

• Extend the program to other sub-counties in Machakos
• Offer advanced training and specialization
• Establish a graduate support network
• Provide startup capital for graduates to begin their own businesses
